Shelter Officer (2 positions) – Upper Nile

About the role

The Shelter Officer will support the implementation of the CC Project in Ulang, Upper Nile, reporting to the Shelter Coordinator. The role involves managing shelter activities, supervising casual workers, and ensuring compliance with NRC policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the delegated CC project portfolio according to the action plan and prepare status reports for management.
• Manage shelter activities, including design, Bill of Quantities, and monitoring of construction or rehabilitation works in line with government standards.
• Supervise casual workers and assistants, support beneficiary selection, and ensure proper filing of project documents.
• Coordinate with the M&E Officer to track outcomes, outputs, and targets, and represent NRC in community and state‑level meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• At least 3 years of practical experience planning and executing shelter programmes in humanitarian contexts.
• Previous experience working in complex, volatile environments, preferably in Upper Nile.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate in a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of English and Arabic languages.
• Experience in capacity building and training of target groups.
