Shelter Coordinator for Ulang Project

About the role

The Shelter Coordinator will ensure smooth implementation of shelter projects for displaced South Sudanese in Ulang, Upper Nile. Reporting to the Field Manager, the role involves supervising staff, managing construction activities, and liaising with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise NRC shelter project staff and contractors, ensuring quality and quantity standards.
• Develop community shelter designs, BOQs, tender documents and oversee the tendering process.
• Prepare status reports, manage project budgets, and monitor financial expenditures.
• Represent the project in coordination forums, build relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and donors.
• Support recruitment, capacity building, and knowledge transfer for the shelter team.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of NGO experience with technical and supervisory responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field.
• Experience in volatile or humanitarian contexts, preferably South Sudan.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; knowledge of local language is an advantage.
