Management Accountant - Financial Services

About the role

Career Directions Limited is hiring a Management Accountant for its Finance department in Juba, South Sudan. The post reports to the General Manager and supervises Finance Officers, Accountants and other finance staff. Its purpose is to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, management accounting, reconciliations, controls, budgeting and analysis, while supporting management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and management packs.
• Analyse performance against budgets and prior periods and recommend actions.
• Review bank, cash, mobile money, branch, partner, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, and resolve outstanding items.
• Monitor cash positions, movements and liquidity needs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and profitability reviews.
• Coordinate regulatory, statutory and audit reporting.
• Review and strengthen internal controls and supervise, coach and support finance staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field; ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in money remittance, foreign exchange, banking, fintech, microfinance, cash transfer or similar financial services.
• Strong experience in management accounts, reconciliations, budgeting and financial controls, plus audits and regulatory reporting.
• Valid Kenyan passport and willingness to relocate to Juba.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and internal controls, and strong cash and treasury understanding.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.
