Head of Remittance

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring a Head of Remittance in Juba, South Sudan, within its Remittance Operations department. The post reports to the General Manager and leads a team of remittance and operations staff. The role covers efficient transaction processing, cash and liquidity management, foreign exchange operations, regulatory compliance, customer service and overall business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily remittance operations and transaction processing.
• Monitor transaction volumes, revenue, margins and operational performance.
• Manage cash, liquidity and foreign currency positions, and recommend appropriate foreign exchange rates.
• Lead, supervise, coach and develop remittance staff.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations, settlements and transaction records.
• Maintain relationships with banks, remittance partners, agents and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor operational risks, losses, errors, fraud and customer complaints.
• Prepare management reports and recommend improvements to efficiency and profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Banking or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in remittance, money transfer, foreign exchange, banking or financial services.
• 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong experience in cash management and foreign exchange operations.
• Good understanding of AML/CFT, KYC and sanctions requirements.
• Experience in South Sudan's financial services or remittance environment, and with banks or remittance partners, is an advantage.
• Valid Kenyan passport and willingness to relocate to Juba.
