Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will support Save the Children’s field programme in Kapoeta, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organisational financial standards. Reporting to the Field Manager, the role oversees grant financial management, internal controls, and coordination with staff and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain donor contract files, share requirements with staff and assist in audit preparation.
• Manage grant financial filing, fixed‑asset registers and produce monthly financial monitoring reports.
• Prepare performance analysis for the Field Manager and ensure implementation of monthly financial action points.
• Coordinate monthly grants finance meetings and support training on budget monitoring and donor terms.
• Assist the Finance Manager in developing and maintaining robust internal control systems for cash management.
• Review purchase requisitions and payments to ensure proper cost coding and compliance.
• Liaise with county‑level NGOs, UN agencies and other external partners on financial matters.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in finance, accounting or grant management, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Understanding of donor compliance, audit processes and financial reporting.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, UN agencies and local authorities.
• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance as the role involves regular contact with children.
