About the role
The Programme Policy Officer – Cash Based Transfers will join the Programme – CBT/IDM Unit in Juba, supporting WFP’s life‑saving and resilience programmes in South Sudan. The role focuses on designing, implementing and monitoring cash‑based transfer (CBT) modalities, ensuring they are efficient, effective and aligned with WFP’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide policy guidance and technical support for CBT programmes across South Sudan.
- Develop and adapt programme designs to incorporate innovative cash‑transfer solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate CBT implementation, ensuring compliance with WFP standards and donor requirements.
- Coordinate with government authorities, NGOs, and other partners to facilitate smooth delivery of cash assistance.
- Prepare analytical reports, briefing notes and recommendations for senior management.
- Contribute to capacity‑building activities for staff and partners on CBT best practices.
Required profile
- University degree in economics, social sciences, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
- Relevant experience in cash‑based transfers or humanitarian programme policy, preferably in South Sudan or similar contexts.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to synthesize complex data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, high‑pressure environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of cash‑based transfer modalities and their operational requirements.
- Experience in programme policy development and implementation.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting for humanitarian programmes.
- Stakeholder coordination and partnership management.
