Programme Associate – Fixed Term (G‑6) – Juba, South Sudan

About the role

Under the supervision of the Chief PMER, the Programme Associate provides specialised programme and administrative support to ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF’s social protection programmes in South Sudan.

Key responsibilities

• Support project planning, implementation and monitoring for social protection initiatives.
• Assist partnership management processes including due‑diligence, PSEA, micro‑assessments and spot checks.
• Coordinate FACE requests with programme managers and partners and monitor timely liquidation of Direct Cash Transfers.
• Manage cash payments and verification for cash‑based assistance.
• Collect, analyse and synthesise qualitative and quantitative data; prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for performance and donor reporting.
• Track budgets, expenditures and grant utilisation using SAP; monitor grant validity and support re‑programming or extensions.
• Prepare periodic and ad‑hoc grant and donor reports and support funding proposals.
• Use AI and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and serve as a resource for digital platforms such as SAP, Service Gateway, Power BI and SharePoint.
• Draft clear communications, knowledge products and maintain an organised programme documentation system.

Required profile

• Ability to exercise judgement, anticipate needs and recommend actions in a programme‑support context.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills with experience in data analysis, budget tracking and grant management.
• Familiarity with UNICEF rules and compliance requirements is advantageous.
