Field Manager – South Sudan (Wedweil)

About the role

The Field Manager will provide operational leadership for the NRC sub‑office in Wedweil, South Sudan. Reporting to the Area Manager, the role ensures efficient, secure and accountable management of programmes and support functions across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead line‑management for directly reporting staff, including performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, induction and staff development.
• Ensure duty of care and safety for all staff in a remote, security‑sensitive environment.
• Provide field‑specific analysis and inputs to Area Office strategies.
• Coordinate and communicate with external stakeholders such as local authorities, community leaders and humanitarian partners.
• Represent NRC in external engagements and maintain effective collaboration with UNHCR and other agencies.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of multi‑sector programme coordination (WASH, Education, Protection, Shelter, Cash & Market).
• Ability to manage staff performance, recruitment and capacity building in challenging settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
