Program Development Officer

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Program Development Officer to join its Juba office. The role focuses on crafting high‑quality grant proposals, supporting project implementation, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements while contributing to the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Research and gather accurate information for situation reports, donor updates, and board briefings.
• Lead the proposal development process in collaboration with grants, program, logistics, and M&E teams.
• Draft and review budgets with finance staff and ensure proposals meet donor guidelines.
• Prepare donor reports, annual reports, and external publications.
• Review grant agreements for compliance and create project summary sheets.
• Provide technical assistance and knowledge‑management support throughout project cycles.
• Coordinate with Communications to supply success stories and media content.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and 3‑5 years of relevant experience, preferably with INGOs in Africa.
• Strong knowledge of major donor requirements (USAID, OFDA, GAC, UNHCR, WFP, FAO, DFID, etc.).
• Excellent writing and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work in multicultural environments and travel to remote field locations.
