Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (RMEAL) Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is looking for a Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (RMEAL) Officer to support the PlayMatters 3.0 programme in South Sudan. This multi‑year initiative, funded by the LEGO Foundation, uses a learning‑through‑play approach to expand safe, inclusive, and quality learning opportunities for children affected by crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the RMEAL Manager and support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for PlayMatters 3.0.
• Assist in data collection, analysis and reporting to track programme performance and impact.
• Collaborate with consortium partners – War Child Alliance, Plan International – and national/sub‑national education actors to strengthen system capacity for learning‑through‑play.
• Contribute to the development and institutionalisation of monitoring frameworks and learning tools.

Required profile

• Experience working in humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in the education sector.
• Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes in crisis‑affected contexts.
