Senior Implementation Manager – PlayMatters

About the role
International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a Senior Implementation Manager to lead the five‑year “PlayMatters” project, funded by the LEGO Foundation. The role will oversee the delivery of play‑based learning interventions for up to 800,000 children aged 3‑12 in refugee settlements and host communities across Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the PlayMatters programme, ensuring that learning‑through‑play methodologies are integrated into schools, homes and community settings.
- Collaborate with consortium partners – War Child Holland, Plan International, the Behavioural Insights Team and Innovations for Poverty Action – to coordinate activities and share best practices.
- Influence and change behaviours of parents, caregivers, teachers, community members and policy makers to support holistic child development (social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative skills).
- Monitor programme outcomes and report on progress toward the target of improving learning and wellbeing for 800,000 children.
