Education Officer – PlayMatters 3.0 (PM3.0)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Education Officer to support the PlayMatters 3.0 (PM3.0) initiative in South Sudan. This multi‑year programme, funded by the LEGO Foundation, uses a Learning through Play (LtP) approach to improve access to safe, inclusive, and quality education for children affected by crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in rolling out the LtP Core Package, including teacher training, continuous professional development, classroom support, and community engagement.
• Work closely with teachers, school leaders, PTAs/SMCs, and local education authorities to strengthen practical application of LtP in schools.
• Provide first‑line technical and operational support to national partners and field teams.
• Support routine monitoring, data collection, and reporting on programme activities.
• Ensure timely delivery of interventions in line with workplans, budgets, and project priorities.

Required profile

• Experience working in education programmes within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of learning through play methodologies and school‑based interventions.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, local authorities, and partner NGOs.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
