Finance Manager

About the role

Samaritans Purse is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial and accounting activities for its operations in Juba, South Sudan. The role involves managing field accounting, budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting for multiple programs across the country while upholding the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial transactions and supporting documentation in line with Samaritans Purse field accounting policies.
• Ensure adequate cash flow and safeguard financial resources at all field sites.
• Assist the Director of Finance with weekly cash reconciliations, monthly bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close processes.
• Support internal and external audits, including emergency relief program audits.
• Collaborate with program managers and the grants department to develop, amend, and monitor program budgets and agreements.
• Provide on‑site finance support to area coordinators and field staff, traveling periodically as needed.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial and administrative processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
• Demonstrated integrity and a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build cooperative relationships with financial staff, program managers, and area coordinators.
