RMEAL Officer – PlayMatters Initiative

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (RMEAL) Officer to support the PlayMatters 3.0 initiative in South Sudan. This multi‑year programme, funded by the LEGO Foundation, aims to strengthen education systems and expand inclusive, play‑based learning for children affected by crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for PlayMatters activities.
• Collect, analyse, and report quantitative and qualitative data on programme performance.
• Ensure accountability mechanisms are in place and learning is documented and shared with partners.
• Support the RMEAL Manager in preparing progress reports, impact assessments, and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with IRC, War Child Alliance, Plan International, and national education authorities.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, research, or learning in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Understanding of education programmes, especially play‑based learning approaches.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work in a multi‑partner consortium and engage with government stakeholders.
