Communication Officer (Digital Content)

About the role

The Communication Officer (Digital Content) leads the planning, production, and distribution of high‑quality digital content for UNICEF South Sudan. Reporting to the Chief of Advocacy and Communications, the role supports advocacy, fundraising and donor visibility through compelling storytelling across social media, the website and other online channels.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage a digital content plan across all UNICEF South Sudan platforms, maintaining a weekly content planner.
• Monitor digital performance using analytics, support online reputation management and ensure inclusive, ethical storytelling.
• Identify and develop programme impact stories, produce multimedia assets (videos, photos, infographics, factsheets) and adapt content for social media and the website.
• Conduct field visits to capture digital assets and manage the Digital Asset Management system (We Share).
• Update the UNICEF South Sudan website, draft campaign page content and track web reach.
• Design and execute local digital campaigns for advocacy, SBC, fundraising and donor recognition, and amplify global UNICEF campaigns.
• Produce donor‑visibility content, coordinate with partnerships teams and maintain donor‑related digital records.
• Advise staff on digital communication, support partner capacity building and promote UN Volunteer engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in communications, journalism, broadcast or digital media.
• International and/or national experience required.
• Fluent English (required).
