About the role
The Advocacy and Media Manager will lead NRC’s advocacy and communications efforts in South Sudan, shaping strategy, influencing policy, and raising the organisation’s external profile. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures that evidence‑based humanitarian analysis drives public discourse and decision‑making at national, regional, and international levels.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and coordinate NRC’s advocacy response to priority humanitarian and protection issues.
- Develop and implement an advocacy and communications strategy aligned with the country programme.
- Design and oversee the country media plan, conducting risk analyses and securing required approvals.
- Provide systematic training on advocacy and communication for staff across the organisation.
- Produce high‑quality analysis of displacement, conflict, and protection trends.
- Prepare evidence‑based policy briefing papers, position statements, and other advocacy outputs.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in humanitarian advocacy, media relations, or communications.
- Strong understanding of South Sudan’s humanitarian context and protection challenges.
- Ability to translate operational evidence into policy‑relevant messaging.
- Experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder advocacy initiatives.
