Health and Nutrition Technical Advisor – Emergency Response

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Technical Advisor will lead nutrition and health initiatives for vulnerable communities in South Sudan, ensuring program goals are met while embodying Samaritan's Purse's mission-driven values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily implementation of health and nutrition activities, staying within budget and schedule.
• Oversee distribution, storage, use, and disposal of medicines and nutrition supplies, conducting site audits.
• Train and mentor local health teams on clinical protocols and safe commodity handling.
• Generate monthly usage reports, identify service gaps, and work with clinics to improve outcomes.
• Contribute to proposal design, budgeting, and impact evaluation for health and nutrition projects.

Required profile

• Nursing degree or clinical medicine qualification with a valid practicing license.
• Two to three years of nursing or clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to diagnose practical challenges, devise solutions, and advise on complex security situations.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
• Completion of 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete after hire).
