Protection From Violence Officer – South Sudan (Nyirol)

About the role

The Protection Officer will monitor and mitigate protection risks, manage community feedback mechanisms and ensure accountability to affected populations in Nyirol, South Sudan.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate cross‑sectoral collaboration with WASH, Shelter and other relevant clusters.
• Lead the implementation of the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism, logging and following up on cases.
• Identify and refer protection concerns at household and community level.
• Plan and deliver community engagement, sensitisation and awareness‑raising activities.
• Monitor safeguarding policies and ensure compliance across projects.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in protection programming in displacement settings.
• Experience working in complex, volatile humanitarian contexts.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with ability to work in diverse cultural environments.
• Degree or diploma in Social Sciences or related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Data collection and reporting competence.
