Education Project Manager – Emergency Rapid Response (ERRM) – Juba

About the role

The Education Project Manager will lead the implementation of the Emergency Rapid Response Mechanism (ERRM) education portfolio in Juba, South Sudan. Working within the Emergency Response Unit, the role oversees both first‑line and second‑line education interventions, ensuring they reach the most vulnerable displaced populations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide line‑management for reporting staff, including performance management, recruitment, induction and staff development.
• Coordinate and manage education project implementation, covering activities, budget, documentation and compliance with donor requirements.
• Deliver technical direction to the Education in Emergency (EiE) team and implementing partners, ensuring high‑quality interventions.
• Prepare regular progress reports for the Emergency Response Manager, Area Manager and Education Specialist.
• Build partnerships with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders, promoting the rights of IDPs, returnees, refugees and host communities.
• Ensure adherence to NRC policies, PSEA standards and safeguarding principles.
• Support resource mobilisation and contribute to the development of country and area strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing humanitarian education projects, preferably within an emergency response context.
• Strong leadership and staff‑development skills, with experience in performance management and workforce planning.
• Ability to work with donors, understand donor regulations and produce compliant reports.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building abilities with local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Commitment to safeguarding, PSEA and the protection of displaced populations.
