Senior Procurement Specialist (Juba, South Sudan)

About the role

The World Bank is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join its Governance Global Practice (GGP) Procurement Unit in the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Based in Juba, South Sudan, the specialist will support decentralized procurement activities across more than 20 country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement processes in line with World Bank policies and regional guidelines.
• Collaborate with Accredited Practice Managers in Nairobi and Pretoria to ensure consistent standards.
• Provide technical guidance to country offices on tendering, contract management, and supplier selection.
• Monitor procurement performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare procurement reports and contribute to regional procurement strategy.

Required profile

• Highly organized, energized, and experienced professional.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a decentralized, multi‑country environment.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to work onsite in Juba for the full contract duration.
