About the role
The Communication Officer will be based in Juba and will support UNICEF South Sudan’s digital communication and advocacy efforts. The role focuses on multimedia storytelling, digital campaigns, website management, donor visibility, and social media engagement to highlight the situation of children and women in South Sudan.
Key responsibilities
- Support implementation of the digital communication strategy and maintain weekly content plans across UNICEF platforms.
- Produce and disseminate multimedia content such as videos, infographics, photo stories, and fact sheets in collaboration with programme teams.
- Update and manage the UNICEF South Sudan website and campaign microsites, monitoring audience reach and engagement.
- Develop and implement local digital campaigns for advocacy, social‑behaviour change, fundraising, and donor recognition.
- Provide guidance to staff and partners on social‑media and digital communication standards.
Required profile
- Experience in digital communication, multimedia storytelling, and content production within a humanitarian or development context.
- Ability to travel for field visits to capture digital assets.
- Strong understanding of inclusive storytelling, consent, and dignity.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with programme, advocacy, and donor teams.
