About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Roving Child Protection Officer to lead child protection case workers and community volunteers in Jonglei, South Sudan. This field‑based position will ensure effective implementation of the child protection programme across Akobo and Ayod, supporting vulnerable children and families.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise child protection case workers and community volunteers.
- Oversee implementation of the child protection programme by partners in Jonglei.
- Monitor and evaluate programme performance, including client responsiveness measures.
- Map services and strengthen referral pathways for complex cases.
- Collaborate closely with the Roving Child Protection Manager to align activities with strategic objectives.
Required profile
- Experience in child protection programming and supervision of field staff.
- Proven ability to conduct monitoring, evaluation, and client‑responsiveness activities.
- Familiarity with service mapping and referral system strengthening.
- Capacity to work in challenging field environments and coordinate with multiple partners.
