Programme Analyst – Women, Peace & Security

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Programme Analyst to support the implementation of its Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in South Sudan. The incumbent will work closely with government partners, civil society and UN agencies to advance the four pillars of UNSCR 1325 and contribute to the national National Action Plan (NAP II) and the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for the design, monitoring and evaluation of WPS programmes aligned with the UNSDCF 2023‑2027.
• Assist in the development and cost‑ing of the second National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.
• Track implementation of gender‑responsive provisions in the Revitalized Agreement and related security sector reform initiatives.
• Prepare briefing notes, policy briefs and reports for senior UN Women officials and government stakeholders.
• Facilitate coordination among UN Women, the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare and other partners.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in international relations, gender studies, peace and security or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in programme analysis, gender mainstreaming or peacebuilding, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UNSCR 1325, national action plans and gender‑responsive peace processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
