MEAL Manager

About the role

The MEAL Manager reports to the Head of Programme and leads the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning (MEAL) and Information Management functions. This senior position provides strategic leadership, technical guidance, and quality oversight to embed MEAL across the project cycle, ensuring evidence‑based programming and data‑driven decision‑making in complex humanitarian settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall management and strategic direction of MEAL, Information Management and Accountability in line with DRC standards and donor requirements.
• Participate in country‑level strategic planning, programme design and annual reviews, using data and learning to improve programme quality.
• Develop and implement MEAL systems, frameworks, tools and approaches across all operational areas.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to MEAL, IM and Accountability teams, ensuring coordination, quality assurance and staff development.
• Facilitate collaboration between MEAL, IM, programme and support departments to strengthen reporting and accountability.
• Lead capacity‑strengthening initiatives for DRC staff and partners on MEAL systems, data quality and evidence‑based programming.
• Ensure compliance with ethical data collection, data protection and information‑sharing standards.

• Demonstrated experience in leading MEAL functions within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to provide strategic leadership and technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical skills and capacity to translate data into actionable programme improvements.
