Logistics Officer – South Sudan (Bor)

About the role

The Logistics Officer will lead the procurement of goods and services for NRC operations in Jonglei state (Bor). The role ensures that purchases are made quickly, at the right quantity and quality, and in full compliance with NRC and donor procurement rules.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the delegated procurement support function according to the action plan.
• Prepare and submit status reports to management as required.
• Maintain proper filing of all procurement documents.
• Provide guidance to program teams on procurement policies and procedures.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services that meet purchase requisition specifications.
• Enforce a transparent procurement process to achieve best value for money.
• Apply internal controls and follow the NRC Logistics Handbook.
• Track all purchase requisitions in the system and share weekly updates with programs and management.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date supplier database, blacklist non‑performing vendors and diversify the vendor pool.
• Oversee performance management for the procurement team and ensure the Digital Procurement System (DPS) is correctly set up.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics and procurement within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong knowledge of NRC and donor procurement rules and regulations.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
