Logistics Assistant – Medical Logistics

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Logistics Assistant – Medical Logistics to support its health programmes in Akobo, South Sudan. The role combines general warehouse, inventory and asset management with specialised handling of pharmaceuticals, vaccines and cold‑chain commodities, ensuring compliance with IRC, donor and Ministry of Health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise warehousing, inventory and asset functions for the field office.
• Receive, store and manage medical commodities, vaccines and cold‑chain items in accordance with international and national drug‑management protocols.
• Maintain accurate stock records, prepare periodic supply requisitions and monitor stock levels.
• Document and report on medical commodity movements, vaccine usage and wastage across project sites.
• Advise on storage space requirements as programmes expand and act as liaison between the Supply Chain team and the Health Unit.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, warehouse or inventory management, preferably in humanitarian or health settings.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical, vaccine and cold‑chain handling standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under challenging operational conditions.
