Emergency Response Procurement and Logistics Program Manager

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a dedicated professional to lead procurement and logistics for emergency response projects in South Sudan. The role blends operational excellence with a faith‑driven commitment to serve beneficiaries directly.

Key responsibilities

• Drive overall logistical excellence to ensure projects run smoothly, on time, and with high integrity.
• Lead procurement activities, maintain and improve systems, create consistent procurement packets, track commodities, and report purchase status to senior leadership.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with customs officials, airport authorities, NGOs, military logisticians, and external merchants to remove barriers and enable rapid, compliant aid delivery.
• Support field‑operation decision‑making by providing timely recommendations to the Area Coordinator.
• Dedicate 15 % of time to direct interaction with beneficiaries, promoting their welfare within the ministry context.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least four years of procurement and logistics experience (or equivalent combination).
• Two to three years of experience in emergency response procurement and logistics in complex international settings preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret MOUs, agreements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong written communication skills for routine reports and correspondence, and confidence in public speaking.
• Proficiency in quantitative calculations such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and volume.
• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as a consistent witness for the faith.
