Emergency Response Field Accountant – South Sudan

About the role

We are looking for an Emergency Response Field Accountant to join our International Projects team in South Sudan. The role supports humanitarian operations by ensuring accurate financial management and transparent reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record all payable and bank transactions, manage cash advances and field expense reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
• Prepare timely financial statements and donor‑grant reports that meet internal policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Area Coordinators, project managers and operations staff, covering Finance Manager duties when needed.
• Facilitate smooth audit processes and provide financial guidance to field teams.
• Monitor and renew contracts for rentals, facilities and vehicles, ensuring payments are current.
• Spend time interacting with beneficiaries, including children, youth and at‑risk adults.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret business and regulatory documents.
• Excellent prioritization skills and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
