Chief of Mission (Director level) – Juba, South Sudan

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a senior leader to serve as Chief of Mission (Director level) for its Country Office in Juba, South Sudan. Reporting to the Regional Director and working closely with Headquarters, the Chief of Mission will provide overall policy, administrative, programme and financial leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all IOM activities in South Sudan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
• Provide policy guidance, programme implementation, and financial management for the Country Office.
• Represent IOM to governmental, diplomatic and international partners, fostering collaboration and advocacy.
• Lead fundraising, public‑relations and resource mobilisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with the UN Resident Coordinator on the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and contribute to the 2030 Agenda.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited university.
• At least fifteen years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive experience in general management, project and resource management.
• Proven track record in diplomacy, fundraising, public relations and liaison with governmental and international institutions.
