Roving Response Operations Manager – Juba, South Sudan

About the role

Samaritans Purse is seeking a Roving Response Operations Manager to lead disaster response activities across South Sudan from its Juba office. The role blends field coordination, logistics oversight, and partnership building while keeping the organization’s Christian mission at the core.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day disaster response operations, including rapid assessments, emergency team deployment, and implementation of interventions within approved budgets and timelines.
• Ensure humanitarian activities meet Sphere Standards, CHS commitments, and organizational policies on protection, gender, safeguarding, and accountability.
• Conduct regular site visits, oversee beneficiary targeting, verification, and distribution processes, and provide technical guidance to field teams.
• Work closely with logistics, procurement, fleet, warehouse, and administration units to secure timely delivery of emergency supplies and assets.
• Supervise, mentor, and support emergency response staff, handling performance management, onboarding, staff care, and compliance with security and safeguarding standards.
• Represent Samaritans Purse in coordination forums and maintain collaboration with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, clusters, churches, and community leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management, Humanitarian Assistance, International Development, Public Health, Logistics, Project Management, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum five years of experience in humanitarian emergency response or disaster operations, preferably in fragile or conflict‑affected settings.
• 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete upon hire).
• Fluency in English and ability to work unaccompanied in Juba.
