Roving Climate Resilience & WASH Engineer

About the role

Relief International is seeking a Roving Climate Resilience and WASH Engineer to support the Climate‑Resilient Health Facilities Project in South Sudan. The position splits time between Juba (30%) and field sites (70%), delivering climate‑smart infrastructure upgrades for health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead climate risk assessments at targeted health facilities.
• Design and propose climate‑resilient infrastructure modifications, preparing technical designs, Bills of Quantities and construction supervision plans.
• Support procurement by providing technical specifications and participating in contractor evaluations.
• Supervise on‑site construction activities, ensure quality, and conduct regular field visits to monitor progress.
• Develop maintenance SOPs and train facility staff on sustainable operation practices.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health, local authorities, UN agencies and other humanitarian actors.
• Represent Relief International in technical coordination meetings and contribute to project visibility.
• Implement monitoring and quality‑assurance mechanisms and produce technical progress reports for donors.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting facility‑level climate risk assessments.
• Experience designing and supervising climate‑resilient infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work closely with government ministries, clusters and UN agencies.
• Strong field‑based supervision and training skills.
