Protection Team Leader – General Protection

About the role

The Protection Team Leader (TL) will oversee the implementation of protection programming in Malakal and surrounding areas, ensuring coordination with the Protection Cluster at state level and delivering high‑quality protection outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the SSHF‑funded protection project, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines, budgeting, and reporting.
• Prepare procurement plans, monitor expenditures, and reconcile activity costs.
• Implement protection activities such as assessments, community‑based protection, psychosocial support, referrals, cash for protection, and awareness‑raising.
• Conduct risk analyses, produce protection information products, and submit monthly monitoring reports.
• Supervise Protection Officers and Assistants, build staff capacity, and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Oversee data collection, manage protection databases, and train colleagues on data tools.
• Collaborate with the MEAL department on monitoring, evaluation, and learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading protection teams within humanitarian settings.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, budgeting, and procurement processes.
• Ability to conduct protection assessments, risk analyses, and advocacy at state level.
• Experience supervising staff and building capacity.
• Familiarity with protection data management and reporting.
