Protection From Violence Coordinator

About the role

The Protection From Violence Coordinator will lead and oversee protection programming in the Unity Area Office of NRC South Sudan. Reporting to the Field Manager, the role ensures effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of protection activities for IDPs and returnees.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage protection from violence activities, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and NRC policies.
• Provide technical guidance and support to protection staff, conduct field visits, and monitor implementation quality.
• Represent NRC in humanitarian coordination structures and develop proposals for funding expansion.
• Produce regular progress reports, manage budgets, procurements, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.

Required profile

• University degree in social science, law, political science or related field.
• At least three years’ experience in protection project management, including staff supervision and compliance.
• Strong communication, analytical, negotiation and team‑building skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic or Kurdish.

Required skills

• Advanced computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting on humanitarian projects.
