Protection From Violence Officer (Uror, South Sudan)

About the role

The Protection From Violence Officer will monitor and mitigate protection risks in Uror, manage community feedback mechanisms, and support safe and inclusive programming for displaced populations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the project’s Community Feedback Mechanism, logging complaints and following up according to SOPs.
• Conduct community engagement, sensitisation, and awareness‑raising activities.
• Identify protection concerns at household and community level and refer cases to appropriate services.
• Report protection incidents, hot‑spots and risks to the Protection Coordinator.
• Support cross‑sectoral collaboration with WASH, Shelter and other clusters.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience in protection programming within displacement settlements.
• Experience working in complex, volatile humanitarian contexts.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; self‑motivated.
• Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences or related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Data collection and reporting skills.
• Basic knowledge of English.
