Project Coordinator – South Sudan

About the role

Cowater is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support long‑term, part‑time operations in South Sudan. The coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver technical, procurement and logistics services for donor‑funded development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with procurement of goods, services and locally‑engaged experts.
• Prepare and maintain project documents such as operating procedures, narrative reports, annual work plans and financial reports.
• Research background information, analyse data and write concise summaries.
• Engage with stakeholders, resolve issues promptly and communicate project updates.
• Coordinate logistical services including mission planning, local transport, travel arrangements, flights and accommodation.
• Organise project reviews, capture lessons learned and share findings with the team.
• Maintain electronic and manual project files and support sourcing of technical expertise.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of project coordination experience in international development, preferably in South Sudan or the region.
• Experience with donor‑funded projects (e.g., GAC, USAID, FCDO) and familiarity with financial and administrative reporting.
• Proven ability to prepare work plans, narrative and financial reports.
• Strong research, analysis and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
