About the role
The People and Culture Manager (P-4) provides strategic and operational HR leadership for UNICEF South Sudan. Based in Juba, the role ensures a high‑performing, diverse and agile workforce that can deliver lifesaving programmes in a complex humanitarian environment.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee workforce planning, talent acquisition, staff wellbeing, performance management and organisational culture.
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership on people and culture matters.
- Ensure effective HR service delivery across multiple field offices.
- Lead and develop a team of HR professionals, setting priorities and monitoring progress.
- Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with UNICEF and UN regulations.
- Support inter‑agency collaboration and contribute to UN80 initiatives and the Business Operations Strategy.
Required profile
- Proven strategic HR leadership experience, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong advisory skills with the ability to influence senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop HR teams in high‑pressure environments.
- Knowledge of UN/UNICEF HR policies and regulations.
