Head of Sub-Office (Mobility)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a senior professional to lead its Sub‑Office in Bentiu. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and Deputy Chief of Mission, the Head of Sub‑Office will ensure the effective delivery of IOM’s migration programmes and manage all operational functions of the office.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operational, human resources, administrative, financial and supply‑chain activities in line with IOM policies and regulations.
• Lead recruitment, training and capacity‑building initiatives for staff and third‑party contractors.
• Represent IOM in meetings with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, private sector partners and the media.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with national, regional and local stakeholders involved in migration management.
• Contribute to the design and development of new projects in coordination with programme managers.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures for staff, premises and assets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary teams within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of migration issues, IOM policies and operational standards.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work under the overall supervision of senior mission leadership while exercising independent decision‑making.
