Head of Programmes – South Sudan

About the role

IsraAID is seeking a senior leader to head its programme portfolio in South Sudan. Reporting to the Country Director, the Head of Programmes will shape, implement and monitor projects across health, protection, WASH and livelihoods, ensuring high‑impact outcomes for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and execution of all programme activities in South Sudan.
• Provide technical leadership for health programming and coordinate with sector specialists.
• Oversee project managers, ensuring robust proposals, implementation plans and budget control.
• Ensure timely, high‑quality donor reporting and compliance with organisational standards.
• Identify gaps in expertise and work with HR and the Country Director to recruit needed staff.
• Adapt and apply programme management tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Minimum 8‑10 years of experience in humanitarian or development programme management.
• Proven experience leading multi‑sector programmes, preferably in health, protection or WASH.
• Strong track record of managing budgets and donor reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently to field locations across South Sudan.
