Financial Accountant – Reporting

About the role

The Financial Accountant – Reporting is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The role supports the CFO in budgeting, ensures regulatory compliance, and handles audit matters. It works closely with payroll, underwriting, and reinsurance teams to maintain the integrity of financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post end‑month journals, including premiums, OS claims, reserves, payroll, reinsurance, and investment entries.
• Amortise prepaid expenses and manage IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Reconcile key General Ledger accounts (reserves, claims, premiums, investments, IFRS 16, PPE, intangibles, ROUA).
• Review and file bank reconciliations and GL analyses performed by staff.
• Process reinsurance month‑end transactions, prepare payable/receivable statements, and coordinate payments and recoveries.
• Open and close sub‑ledger periods for AP, AR, GL, FA before financial statement preparation.
• Collect, analyse, reconcile, and upload IFRS 17 data to the Risk Integrity engine.
• Produce accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
