About the role

NRC South Sudan leads an EU-funded Education Agri-TVET Consortium in partnership with a wide network of national and international partners. The ARISE Consortium aims to close the skills gap in South Sudan's agricultural sector by delivering competency-based Agri Value Chain TVET skills, so youth, especially girls and young women and displacement-affected learners, gain market-relevant, green and transferable skills. The Consortium Manager oversees the Consortium and is responsible for its overall management, strategic direction, operational management and implementation, and for building strong relationships with partners, donors and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with donor contracts and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies, CC tools, handbooks and guidelines, and with donor and consortium rules.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership of the Consortium, coordinating delivery and inputs from consortium members.
  • Coordinate with partners to ensure high-quality implementation, accountability to beneficiaries and compliance with rules.
  • Oversee day-to-day management, including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and budget spending, keeping the project on scope and schedule.
  • Represent the Consortium before national authorities, donors and counterparts.
  • Line manage and supervise the Consortium Management Unit, including recruitment of consultants.
  • Lead consultations, design and prepare the next phase of the Consortium based on evidence and partner expertise.
  • Provide systematic training and build capacity of technical staff where relevant.

Required profile

  • Minimum BA in a relevant area.
  • At least 5 years of humanitarian experience across multiple contexts, including at least 2 years in youth programmes.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience managing multi-million (EUR) projects.
  • Experience in consortium management or extensive involvement in a multi-year consortium.
  • Experience developing training tools, manuals and information management systems for humanitarian action and accountability to affected people.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; preferred knowledge of the Sudan context.

Required skills

  • Project management of large-scale humanitarian projects.
  • Consortium management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Training tool and information management system development.

What we offer

  • Duty station: Juba, South Sudan.
  • Contract: 12 months, renewable based on funding and performance.
  • Salary at grade 9 on NRC's international contract.
