Community and Rural Development Senior Officer

About the role

The Community and Rural Development Senior Officer will support the South Sudan Livelihoods and Resilience Programme (SSLRP) by analysing, adapting policies and coordinating agriculture and livelihoods activities. The role contributes to sustainable development and resilience‑building in post‑conflict South Sudan.

Key responsibilities

• Organise stakeholder engagement meetings and workshops with state and county governments, NGOs and other partners for component 2 of SSLRP.
• Supervise agriculture and livelihoods activities implemented by partners, produce supervision reports and recommend improvements.
• Monitor monthly and quarterly reporting schedules, review narrative reports, indicator tracking tools and work‑plan updates.
• Consolidate weekly reports from Community Rural Development Associates into monthly and quarterly progress summaries.
• Support documentation of best practices and innovative approaches within agriculture and livelihoods interventions.
• Assist in capacity‑building training for partners and coordinate ad‑hoc quality‑management meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Agriculture, Sociology or related field with at least 4 years experience, OR Master’s degree with 2 years experience, OR Technical Diploma with 6 years experience.
• Minimum two years experience in agriculture and livelihoods, community development, stakeholder engagement, and liaison with government.
• At least two years experience in reporting, monitoring and evaluation of field interventions.
• Experience in post‑conflict or disaster contexts and donor‑funded projects is desired.
