Commodity Manager – Roving Response (South Sudan)

About the role

The Commodity Manager will lead supply‑chain activities for Samaritans Purse’s new Roving Response Program in South Sudan. This role combines humanitarian logistics expertise with a commitment to serving communities in Jesus’ name.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, receive, store, handle, track, allocate and distribute food, NFIs, shelter materials and other emergency supplies.
• Provide leadership for commodity pipeline management, warehouse operations, distribution planning, inventory control and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies and humanitarian standards.
• Supervise four non‑supervisory staff members in line with Samaritans Purse policies.
• Prepare analytical reports on inventory levels, distribution outcomes and logistical performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Procurement or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in supply chain, logistics or commodity management, preferably in humanitarian emergency response or fragile contexts.
• Experience managing large‑scale commodity pipelines, emergency distributions and warehouse operations.
• Prior work with INGOs, faith‑based organisations or UN agencies is highly desirable.
• Experience in South Sudan or similar humanitarian environments is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete).
