Chief of Party, Rapid Response

About the role

Samaritans Purse is seeking a senior leader to head its Rapid Response Food Assistance program in Juba, South Sudan. The Chief of Party will guide the team in delivering life‑saving food aid while upholding the organization’s faith‑based values.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the Food Assistance program, ensuring delivery within budget and project timelines.
• Ensure all activities comply with Samaritans Purse standards, international regulations, and donor requirements.
• Manage the grant budget, produce accurate financial reports for donors and headquarters.
• Coordinate with government authorities, UN agencies, other humanitarian actors, and partners to align project objectives.
• Conduct regular field visits to support staff, resolve challenges, and explore future program opportunities.
• Supervise 5‑10 non‑supervisory staff and 2 supervisory staff, handling recruitment, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale food assistance or humanitarian programs.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, grant management, and international humanitarian standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government and UN entities.
• Commitment to personal faith practice and ability to serve as a witness for the organization’s mission.
