Business Development Manager – Insurance Brokerage

About the role

The company is seeking a South Sudanese national to lead the growth of its insurance brokerage business. The Business Development Manager will drive revenue across Medical and General insurance lines, manage a team, and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives and annual targets.
• Own and deliver the annual revenue budget for both Medical and General insurance classes, monitoring performance and taking corrective actions.
• Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities across corporate, SME and individual client segments.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, insurers, reinsurers, regulators and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee preparation of high‑quality bid documents, tenders and proposals, ensuring timely submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Marketing or related field; professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII, IIK) is required.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in insurance brokerage or insurance industry, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or team‑leadership role.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales/revenue targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with CRM or sales management systems.
• Skilled in proposal writing, tender and bid management.
