Senior Research Manager – South Sudan (Juba)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Research Manager to lead its research unit in South Sudan. Based in Juba, the role oversees the full research cycle – from preparation and data collection to analysis, drafting, dissemination and evaluation – supporting evidence‑based humanitarian decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage international and national assessment teams, including recruitment, performance monitoring and capacity building.
• Plan and supervise research cycles, ensuring Terms of Reference are validated, stakeholders are engaged and data collection follows agreed protocols.
• Monitor progress, produce situation updates, and coordinate logistics, finance, security and HR with partner departments.
• Draft and review assessment outputs (reports, factsheets, etc.) to meet IMPACT quality standards and ensure timely dissemination.
• Identify information gaps, develop advocacy strategies and foster partnerships with humanitarian actors and donors.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams in complex humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to represent an organization with donors and senior external partners.
• Strong coordination skills and experience contributing to senior management decision‑making.
