Project Manager, Food Security and Livelihoods (Malakal)

About the role

Solidarites International (SI) is looking for a project manager in Malakal, South Sudan, to implement and achieve the objectives set out in the proposals. The person supervises the operational teams assigned to the programme, ensures its quality and relevance, and suggests adjustments where needed. The mission covers WASH and food security and livelihoods (FSL) activities in a context of high food insecurity, cholera outbreaks, floods, conflict and displacement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure project relevance, quality and design
• Implement and monitor operations
• Manage personnel
• Contribute to capitalization
• Handle reporting, communication and representation
• Finalise ongoing projects within timelines and donor constraints
• Set up workflows with remote teams and coordinate with partner NGOs
• Take part in the mission's work on new proposals, using FSL as an entry point

Required profile

• Master's degree in humanitarian or development studies, social sciences, management or a related field
• 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, including 1-2 years in a similar position
• Fluent English, written and spoken; Arabic is an asset

Required skills

• Project cycle management and project reporting
• Proposal design and writing
• Food security and livelihoods knowledge (e.g. FCS, CSI, CARI assessments)
• GIS and MEAL software such as KoboToolbox and XLSForm
• Knowledge of SI rules and procedures is an asset
