About the role
The ICLA Officer ensures day‑to‑day implementation of Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance activities for displaced populations in Ulang, Upper Nile, supporting their access to durable solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise assistants and ensure compliance with NRC Code of Conduct, national law and donor requirements.
- Provide individual counselling on complex Housing, Land and Property (HLP) cases.
- Identify and assist beneficiaries with legal cases related to LCD and HLP.
- Organise information sessions, needs assessments and capacity‑building trainings for local authorities and community leaders.
- Maintain accurate data entries in the electronic database and manage hard‑copy verification sources.
- Coordinate with government officials, humanitarian partners, UN agencies and NGOs for referrals and networking.
- Prepare status reports, weekly and monthly activity updates for the Project Coordinator.
Required profile
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field.
- At least 3 years experience in humanitarian ICLA programmes or protection/legal assistance.
- Previous experience working in complex, volatile contexts, preferably Upper Nile, South Sudan.
- Proven ability to plan, deliver results and work independently in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
