Emergency Response Food Assistance Program Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Emergency Response Food Assistance Program Manager to lead our food‑assistance operations in South Sudan. The role combines program planning, implementation, and reporting to ensure timely, high‑quality food distribution aligned with our mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for planning, executing and reporting on all food‑assistance activities.
• Represent the organization in meetings with government officials, donors and civil‑society partners; develop proposals and budgets.
• Oversee program budget, expenditures and coordinate with WASH, Nutrition and Protection leads to integrate multi‑sector interventions.
• Manage post‑distribution monitoring surveys and work with the MEL team to assess impact.
• Conduct regular site and warehouse visits, support staff and resolve operational challenges.
• Spend at least 20 % of time in direct contact with beneficiaries to promote welfare and safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years of experience in food‑assistance programs, including staff supervision and donor compliance.
• Strong knowledge of general food distributions, blanket supplementary feeding and school feeding programmes.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and budget development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
