Digital Media & Insights Officer

About the role

The Safari Brief is seeking a tech‑savvy Digital Media & Insights Officer to run its daily newsroom operations from Juba. You will combine macro‑economic intelligence gathering with fast‑paced, brand‑aligned digital content creation for senior‑level audiences across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Pan‑African trade, central bank decisions, sovereign debt and AfCFTA developments to extract actionable insights.
• Verify sources and apply strict journalistic standards to maintain credibility.
• Write concise copy, executive summaries and short‑form insights for LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp Channels.
• Identify high‑impact video segments from summit feeds, edit, subtitle and produce 2‑3 vertical videos daily using CapCut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Create 5‑7 data‑focused graphics each day with Canva master templates while enforcing brand guidelines.
• Manage digital asset repositories, schedule publications and maintain organized backups.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in digital newsrooms, corporate B2B communications or institutional multimedia production.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, regional trade frameworks and sovereign debt concepts.
• Ability to produce error‑free copy and batch assets under tight daily deadlines.
• Portfolio of relevant digital media work.
