Logistics Specialist – Fixed Term (P-3)

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Supply & Logistics Manager, the Logistics Specialist provides technical oversight for logistics, warehousing and distribution operations for UNICEF South Sudan Country Office. The role ensures the effective movement, storage and delivery of supplies for both programme activities and emergency response across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound shipments and manage customs clearance procedures.
• Oversee warehousing operations, including inventory control and stock accuracy.
• Plan, monitor and optimise transport and last‑mile distribution to field locations.
• Manage logistics contracts and supervise service providers.
• Provide technical advisory support to government and national logistics systems.
• Collaborate with programme, operations, field offices, implementing partners and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accountable logistics support.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF logistics policies and humanitarian standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, logistics, procurement, business administration, economics, law, international development, public health, social science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in supply management, logistics, warehouse management, inventory control, transport management, customs compliance, humanitarian operations or related areas.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
